Aryavachin, Sanghanath and myself (Yogaratna) wish to bring people together who are interested in how spiritual practice might respond to global concerns such as the environment and social injustice. Our aim is to promote cross-fertilisation (through sharing our ideas and experiences), inspiration and encouragement. We are Buddhists, but you don't have to be one to come along, we're interested in dialogue.
This group is for anyone interested in learning meditation within the Dhammakaya tradition. Tuesday evenings are mainly for those with an interest in Buddhism and a longer period of meditation. Wednesday evenings are aimed at beginners and those aiming to integrate meditation into other aspects of a self-development lifestyle. Meetups comprise a guided meditation session, a break for tea and sandwiches (provided) and a talk from a series.
Part of the Wild Goose Zen Sangha (WGZS) led by Patrick Kundo Sensei. We meet twice a month for sitting meditation(Zazen), walking meditation (kin-hin) and teaching. We begin at 2pm and always finished by 3.30pm - ideal if you need to collect children from school! We're a relatively new sangha (started May 2012) but part of the longer established WGZS, which itself comes out of the renowned White Plum Asangha based in New York (USA). We provide cushions (zafu's) and mats (zabutons) to sit on, or …
Bradford Zen Group meets at Kirkgate Community Centre, Shipley, to practice Zazen together, on Tuesday's 7 - 8.30pm. Zazen is silent, seated, objectless meditation. We sit still and upright, offering our complete attention to each moment. Central to Zen Practice is the practice of Zazen – simply sitting, not grasping at the thoughts and emotions that arise within us, nor rejecting them, but allowing them to pass by. Through this - naturally, unconsciously and automatically - we become aware that …

Connaissance is for the weird and wonderful. The self aware, non-conformist. We are here as a social group so that like-minded people can enjoy the company of others, as self awareness can be a lonely journey at times. We are not here to meditate or pray, rather we are here for free thinkers, individuality and self expression. We are here to enjoy the journey and to share love and friendship with those who also are on the path. “There is almost a sensual longing for communion with others who ha …

This a social network for people who suffer from depression and anxiety, and want to make connections with others who “know what it’s like”. We arrange some on-topic support group events, as well as many random get-togethers. The group is private (i.e. no one can see who the members are) and will always remain so. It’s also not a public service, as I fund the group. If I was asked to describe the group ethos, I'd say: nothing is expected of our members, and, the belief that people should be in a …
A bit of an experiment - this is an attempt to develop knowledge and kalyana mitrata (spiritual friendship) through social gatherings and friendly chats. There is already a great Buddhist Centre in Cambridge, which is perfect for learning to meditate and studying the dharma with a teacher, so there's no need to try and duplicate that... this is more about discussing meditation, discussing the dharma, amongst peers. My hope that it enables the kind of conversation and bonding that you would have …

A warm welcome to this gathering offering you to journey deep, into the cave of the heart - moving fears, phobias, and unwanted emotions to accept and release. When in the presence of the heart, we alchemize and transform fears to love. The energy of body, mind and breath is used with self inquiry approach. This increases awareness of what is actually happening in the body – sensations and emotions – to release into the experience of creativity and freedom. The purpose of Spiritual Heart Meditat …
